Within a district, among people who know one another, that has always worked well. It begins to strain the moment distance, unfamiliarity or scale enter the picture: when a buyer in one province wants quality animals from another, or needs a small number of animals for a particular occasion without the time, the transport and the local contacts that the traditional route demands.

The Cattle Exchange was founded to make buying livestock straightforward and dependable, wherever in the country a buyer happens to be. We sell quality live animals across South Africa, and we take responsibility for everything that surrounds a sale: the accuracy of what you are told about each animal, the security of your payment, and the coordination of collection or delivery to wherever you need the animals to arrive.

Every animal we offer is examined before it is listed, and its health, condition and identification are recorded, so that what you read on a listing is a faithful account of the animal rather than a sales pitch. These are not features we advertise so much as standards we hold ourselves to.
