PAIA manual

Version 2026-07-v1 · Last updated 29 July 2026

This manual is published in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000. It describes the records held by The Cattle Exchange and the manner in which access to them may be requested.

The records we hold

The records we maintain include those relating to the suppliers and service providers we work with and their verification, the accounts and orders of our buyers, the traceability records that accompany orders involving meat, our financial and settlement records, and the records we are obliged to keep under the tax, company and consumer legislation that applies to us.

How to request access

A request for access to a record must be made in writing to our Information Officer. It should describe the record sought in sufficient detail for it to be identified, identify the person making the request, and state the right that the requester seeks to exercise or protect. We respond to requests within the periods prescribed by the Act. Certain records are protected from disclosure by law, including the personal information of other people, and access to these may be refused on that basis.

Fees

A request may attract the fees prescribed under the Act. Where a fee is payable, we will inform you of it before proceeding, so that you may decide whether to continue.

Where to send a request

Requests should be addressed to the Information Officer, Tapson Sadiki, at privacy@thecattlexchange.com, The Cattle Exchange (Pty) Ltd, Unit 12, Route 21 Corporate Park, 6 Regency Drive, Irene, Centurion, 0157.
