Supplier terms

These terms apply to those who supply livestock to The Cattle Exchange. They set out what a supplier confirms to us, and the basis on which we work together. Registration and verification take place through our partner portal; these are the terms that sit behind that process.
The supplier’s confirmation
In offering livestock to The Cattle Exchange, a supplier confirms that it lawfully owns the animals concerned, that they are free of any undisclosed claim and are not stolen, that the identification provided, such as a brand or ear tag, and the details of origin are accurate, and that the health and movement information provided is true and current.
Verification
Every supplier is verified before any dealing takes place. Suppliers provide documentation confirming identity, address and ownership, which is held privately and seen only by those responsible for verification.
Ongoing obligations
A supplier undertakes to keep the information it provides accurate and current, to present animals honestly, and to comply with the animal health, movement and welfare law applicable to it. A supplier further undertakes to inform us promptly of anything affecting the health, ownership or availability of an animal it has offered.
Settlement
The Cattle Exchange concludes each sale with the buyer as principal, and maintains its own record of the amounts due to suppliers. Settlement is made to the supplier separately, in accordance with the terms agreed between us, once the relevant order is complete.
